Mutant butterfly loving the life of Reilly

This photo was taken of a mutant butterfly with the deformed wings at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia. As you can see he is getting his snack on a overripe banana. In any other setting he would have been a convenient snack for some other more perfect creature. But cared for by humans and relatively safely ensconced in the museum's butterfly room, this little guy can consider his wings ornamental fixtures instead of death ensuring liabilities.
