The Philly Naked Bikeride: Every year hundreds of semi-clothed hippies take to the streets of Philadelphia with their self-proclaimed message "to deliver a vision of a cleaner, safer, body-positive world to the masses." On a more local level, the bikers hope to increase awareness of bicycles on the streets of Philly, where they are often unnoticed by busy drivers.
The Philly Naked Bikeride is part of the "World Naked Bikeride," or WNBR which began in 2004 having several modest goals including saving the planet. This group can best be described as a naked, ultra-liberal, diverse, non-racist, younger version of the Tea Party Movement (on bicycles).
The next Philly Naked Bikeride is scheduled for September, just in time for mid term elections.
*Note, a small gathering of bikers is set to meet up the evening before the event at Good Dog restaurant on South Street. Bikers are welcome to use a restaurant.com coupon for $10 off any $20 purchase at Good Dog.
