Were the fat boys really fat?

Eating lunch at Kensington's awesome restaurant "pizza brain", I saw this album cover among their paraphernalia. Looking at the fat boys, and considering the level of obesity that is now the norm, I wonder if the fat boys would be taken seriously as "fat" today.
