ATM Sculpture Art in Northern Liberties

I saw this striking bit of sculpture around an ATM in the Piazza. The Artist may have been trying to evoke the hands of the poor reaching for financial means, or perhaps signifying the many bankers and business people whose hands exchange, loot, and command our money.

It is great art in that it immediately forces one to examine the moment, the transactional reality about to occur, and to consider the many layers and constructs that have turned the once concrete and human marketplace into a hive of abstract and inhuman exploit.

Not sure if the bank sponsored this, but I like it nonetheless.
